Francesco Ciardelli, Full Professor of Polymer Chemistry since 1975, at the Department of Chemistry and Industrial Chemistry of the University of Pisa, and President of SPIN-PET. He coordinated and participated in several research projects at European, national and regional level, also co-financed by private industry, concerning the synthesis, characterization and development of new polymeric materials and in particular those obtained by "reactive extrusion" also starting from recycled plastic materials.
Cosimo Bruni, chemical engineer (Degree at the University of Pisa, 1973) SPIN-PET administrator. Skills in the selection of polymeric materials in the design of manufactured articles, in manufacturing processes (injection molding, thermoforming), as well as economic and environmental impact analysis. Consultant for companies operating in the field of plastic materials recycling (ROMEI s.r.l, Scarperia), as well as in the design of products in thermoplastic material (MPT-Plastica s.r.l).
Aleandro Pancani, mechanical engineer (Degree from the University of Florence, 1982) is a SPIN-PET partner. He worked for 23 years within an engineering company of which he was one of the founders (ENSECO SpA - Scandicci (FI)) holding various positions, from Quality and Environment Manager to Commercial Director to Technical Director. In this context, he has followed important multidisciplinary jobs both as an engineering coordinator and as a Project Manager. He is Quality Systems Evaluator compliant with ISO 9000 and ISO 10011 standards and expert in 6 SIGMA methodology ("Green Belt" certificate). Since 1982 he has been a tenured professor of "Materials Technology" at ISS "Leonardo da Vinci" Florence and also works as a freelancer.
Valter Castelvetro, graduated in Chemistry in Bologna in 1985, then obtained the Specialization in Chemistry from the Scuola Normale Superiore of Pisa in 1992. He has been University Researcher since 1995 for the CHIM / 04 sector (Industrial Chemistry) at the Department of Chemistry and Industrial Chemistry of the University of Pisa (DCCI) and since December 2007 he is Associate Professor at the same Department. He has been a SPIN-PET partner since its foundation.
Maria-Beatrice Coltelli, graduated in Chemistry in 2001 and with a PhD in Chemistry in 2005, at the University of Pisa, administrator of SPIN-PET. PhD thesis on the chemical modification of Nylon and PET. He has participated in several research and development projects at European, national and regional level. Currently Associate Professor at DICCISM-UNIPI.
Flavia Bartoli, graduated in Industrial Chemistry in 2010 at the University of Pisa, with a thesis entitled "Materials with modulated and flame-resistant thermo-mechanical properties from post-industrial PET / PE mixtures". The thesis was awarded with two awards: PlasticsEurope Italia Prize for specialist degree thesis promoted by Federchimica and First Prize in the competition for degree thesis: 11th Laura Conti Ecology Prize 2010 - Special Prize "Recycling of plastic" offered by CARPI (Autonomous Consortium Recycling Plastic Italy). Award ceremony at the ECOMONDO 2010 International Fair in Rimini. He has been working at SPIN-PET since September 2010 carrying out research applied to problem solving and characterization activities in the sector of polymeric materials.
Sabrina Bianchi graduated in Industrial Chemistry in July 2003 with a thesis entitled "Interface transesterification in PET polyolefin mixtures functionalized with ester groups". From September 2003 to December 2020 he carried out research activities at the Department of Chemistry and Industrial Chemistry of the University of Pisa, both with contracts and research grants both as a graduate technician and as an INSTM researcher. During this period he participated in several European and regional projects concerning two main themes: the development of new materials from post-consumer plastics and renewable resources and the preparation of functional polymeric coatings including the synthesis or surface modification of the necessary nanoparticles. She is co-author of more than 15 publications in international scientific journals, 1 patent and contributions to national and international conferences. She has been a SpinPET member since its foundation. He is currently employed by SpinPET.
Pierpaolo Minei graduated in Chemistry with a specialization in Organic Chemistry in 2013 at the University of Pisa with a thesis entitled "Preparation and characterization of optical response films by dispersing organic fluorophores in thermoplastic polymeric matrices". He has carried out research activities as a research fellow at the Scuola Normale of Pisa, the Institute of Nanotechnologies of the CNR and the University of Pisa. His research activity has focused mainly on the chemistry of polymeric materials and organic pigments and dyes. In particular, he was involved in the development of "smart" polymeric materials with optical response to stimuli of various kinds, the development of fluorescent plastic devices for the production of electricity from the solar (Luminescent Solar Concentrators, LSC) and the study and formulation of new “cool” paints with NIR reflective properties for both construction and clothing. He is co-author of more than 20 publications in international scientific journals and co-inventor of 2 patents. He has been working at SPIN-PET since February 2020 carrying out research activities applied to problem solving and development of innovative materials.
Michele Pinna, after graduating in Chemistry for Industry and the Environment in 2018 at the University of Pisa, with a thesis entitled "Preparation and characterization of PVB and PLA polymer matrix composites and nanocomposites and mixed metal oxides variable percentage "he obtained his Master's Degree in Industrial Chemistry in 2020 at the University of Pisa, with a thesis entitled" La cutina: a natural polymeric network for the preparation of biodegradable formulations ". He has been working at SPIN-PET since October 2020 and carries out research applied to problem solving and characterization activities in the field of polymeric materials.
